Nicki Minaj ‘An Icon’ - Lil Wayne Writes

TIME magazine gave those close to the influencers the opportunity to write about them.
Lil Wayne wrote a short essay about the Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj being honored by TIME magazine as one of the most influential artistes of 2016:

“You know, in New York they used to have these street DVDs,” Weezy wrote. “It just so happened that I appeared in one, and when I looked at the finished product, Nicki Minaj was on a part of the DVD. I was like, ‘Woooooow!’ She was just being Nicki without the glitz and glamour. When I heard the first two and four bars, it wasn’t even about her rapping better than any female rapper. It was about, man, she’s rapping better than other rappers—period.”
“I always wanted more for my artists and saw Nicki’s potential from the first moment I laid eyes on her,” Wayne wrote. “She’s reached far beyond everything I would have imagined. Man, she’s so influential and doing all the right things. She’s an icon, a boss and a role model to all these young girls out here on how to do it the right way. Her work ethic speaks volumes and has yielded these results. The scary thing is she’s still going. Ha! Nicki Minaj will go down as one of the best to do it in the history of music.”

Police Raid Lil Wayne's Miami Manson and Seize Property

Authorities raided Lil Wayne’s Miami Beach mansion on Tuesday, seizing property to satisfy a judgment involving unpaid private jet bills.
According to TMZ, when officers arrived Wayne’s security refused to let them inside the house. They explained that they were there to seize certain assets because Wayne had not paid a $2 million judgment to Signature Group, a jet leasing company.
In September, Weezy lost the judgement and also owes Signature Group $200,000 in lawyer’s fees. The company sued Wayne, claiming that he missed payments for two years.
To recover the money, the court order allows Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s deputies to break the locks if necessary to gain entry and confiscate seizable assets.
Wayne was not home at the time. He was seen at a Los Angeles strip club on Monday night.
This is not the first incident to occur at Weezy’s Miami home. In March, police swarmed his La Gorce Island mansion in response to a tip that four people had been shot, but it turned out to be a “swatting” hoax .

LIL WAYNE WANTS TO TAKE DRAKE AND NICKI MINAJ OFF CASH MONEY

Lil Wayne wants out of Cash Money, and he’s taking Drake and Nicki Minaj with him.
The Young Money chief plans to sue Birdman for his release from Cash Money, and also claims that Birdman owes him an $8 million advance for his album Tha Carter V .
In addition to demanding money, TMZ reports that Wayne will sue Birdman to ensure that Young Money’s artists remain under his control.
In addition to Drake and Nicki, this includes the rest of the Young Money roster—Christina Milian, Lil Twist, and Mack Maine, who doubles
as the label’s president.
Weezy believes the artists should go with him because their contracts are with Young Money.
Cash Money has a distribution deal with all of Young Money’s acts. The issue will likely have to be settled in court, but Wayne is adamant about
taking his crew with him.
He also seems confident about Drake and Nicki’s loyalty to him. On his remix to “CoCo” off his mixtape Sorry 4 the Wait 2 , he boasts, “I ain’t
trippin’, I got Barbie, I got Drake too.”

Lil Wayne Leaves Cash Money, Sues Birdman for $8M

According to TMZ, the 2 titans tried coming to terms this week but it wasn't meant to be. Now Wayne will ask a judge to declare him free of Cash Money and Birdman's control. Wayne says Birdman has violated their contract by withholding the release of his new album.
As for the $8 MIL claim, Wayne says Birdman owed the money for his latest album, it was supposed to be an advance. Birdman has held firm, he will release the album "in due time," but clearly that's not
good enough for Wayne.
TMZ reports that Lil Wayne will keep recording but he will release his works outside of the Cash Money umbrella.
