I mean, I have such an obsession with making movies that I probably will always do that. But sometimes my life can feel so suffocating, and then it can feel so massive, like I don't have a handle on it at all, and I don't know where it's going or what I'm going to do. Right now, I'm known for making movies. And I wonder if that's it. I don't know. It doesn't feel like it to me."
Ms. Johnson adds, "It seems like the world is so fast to move its interest to someone else. When I think about filmmakers and actresses that I have admired my whole life, I've admired their entire body of work. I have admired what they began with and what they're doing now. And now I feel like there's such a weird pressure to find the new face. I don't get it at all. I want to see women evolve. I want to see a body of work. I want to see all of it."

What we, especially women, consider to be our strengths and to be our weaknesses. That aging is a weakness that we think of it that way. Yet, it’s when we’re at our wisest. We’ve experienced everything and we should be considering ourselves the richest. We live in a society where women are treated like wilted flowers. They used to be pretty, but now they’re just kind of wilting.”

Nicki Minaj ‘An Icon’ - Lil Wayne Writes

TIME magazine gave those close to the influencers the opportunity to write about them.
Lil Wayne wrote a short essay about the Young Money rapper Nicki Minaj being honored by TIME magazine as one of the most influential artistes of 2016:

“You know, in New York they used to have these street DVDs,” Weezy wrote. “It just so happened that I appeared in one, and when I looked at the finished product, Nicki Minaj was on a part of the DVD. I was like, ‘Woooooow!’ She was just being Nicki without the glitz and glamour. When I heard the first two and four bars, it wasn’t even about her rapping better than any female rapper. It was about, man, she’s rapping better than other rappers—period.”
“I always wanted more for my artists and saw Nicki’s potential from the first moment I laid eyes on her,” Wayne wrote. “She’s reached far beyond everything I would have imagined. Man, she’s so influential and doing all the right things. She’s an icon, a boss and a role model to all these young girls out here on how to do it the right way. Her work ethic speaks volumes and has yielded these results. The scary thing is she’s still going. Ha! Nicki Minaj will go down as one of the best to do it in the history of music.”

GQ’s Most Stylish Men In The World

GQ magazine has made the almost-impossible selection of the 2016 best-dressed dudes.
In the May 2016 Most Stylish Men in the World issue, the men’s publication singles out Drake , Tom Hardy , Ryan Reynolds and Harry Styles as the gents with the hottest threads.
GQ stated, “No disrespect to the Hall of Famers — from Kanye to Clooney, Gosling to Pharrell — but this year we’re feeling a different, right-this-second strain of pro-level style. We speak of men who look just as sharp on the street as they do on the red carpet. Who realize that, in the camera-phone age, every little walk to the corner can turn into a photo op. And who rarely bother with suits — but when they do, they really make it count.”

Gwyneth Paltrow covers SELF magazine

American actress, singer, and food writer Gwyneth Kate Paltrow is featured on the front cover of SELF magazine. Gwyneth is the founder and chief creative officer of lifestyle publication Goop.
She told SELF magazine:
"We have this idea that you can't be a mother and a businesswoman and like to have sex!"
"How is an intelligent woman a sexual being? It's really hard to integrate those things. Like, 'Gwyneth has sex? Really?' It doesn't seem to go together. But I think it's important, as mothers and as women contributing to society in whatever way we each are, that our true sexuality doesn't get lost or put aside."
Gwyneth continues, "I have yet to meet someone who isn't burdened with hyper-responsibility," she said. "Everyone is suffering from this sense of 'I have to do it all and I have to do it perfectly.' It's all my friends, all my colleagues: We try to do everything to such a high standard. And I'm like, 'Where did we get this from? Because I'm f**king exhausted!'
"I'm responsible for every photo, every piece of content, all the product that we're making. I do all the creative," she explained. "But I'm also involved in the business side and the strategy. It's challenging!"
Paltrow adds, "If I make my kids something delicious and we sit down to eat it, and I put my phone away and I really listen, that is such money in the bank,"

Hailey Baldwin Scores Marie Claire May Issue

Esperanza Emily Spalding covers Glamour Magazine

American jazz bassist, cellist and singer Esperanza Emily Spalding is featured in the May 2016 issue of Glamour magazine. Highlights from Esperanza Spalding's interview are below.
On her hair while growing up:
“My hair, growing up, was no fun at all. My mom never let me press it or put relaxer in it; she wanted me to embrace what my hair did naturally. I was allowed to brush it and let it dry, and then I had to get out of the house. When I was around 12, my hair was really, really thick and super curly—just dense and impossible. I went through a very embarrassing couple of years there. I just wanted to get my hair out of my life, out of the way, out of people’s sight, just away from everything because it was so crazy.”
On when she started to love her curls:
“At 15 I just decided to bleach it, relax it, color it—I did everything. At 17, when I left home [for Berklee College of Music in Boston], I shaved my hair to a quarter inch of my head. As it grew into an Afro, I liked that look. And it’s pretty much been growing out like that ever since. I like to let it be completely wild; it forces me to face people not knowing how I’m being seen. I don’t know what it’s doing and I just have to be cool with that—especially if I’m around somebody new. I’m like, All right, let’s go. This is it, unfiltered.”
On why she’s wearing her hair in braids for her new album and tour:
“Emily—which is my middle name, and what I was called growing up—is my onstage alter ego and the inspiration for this album. Her look reflects who she is and what she’s about, and draws from my childhood. Her hair is different from how I usually wear it: It’s twisted down in braids, soaking up the energy of her world.”

Taylor Alison Swift covers Vogue Magazine

American singer-songwriter Taylor Alison Swift is featured on the May 2016 issue of Vogue. highlights from Taylor Swift's interview include:
On what she's going to do with the rest of her life:
“I have no idea,” she says, with a sigh that’s more blissful than anxious. “This is the first time in ten years that I haven’t known. I just decided that after the past year, with all of the unbelievable things that happened…I decided I was going to live my life a little bit without the pressure on myself to create something.”
On continuing her musical endeavors, but also expanding her horizons:
“I’m always going to be writing songs,” Swift says. “The thing is, with me, I could very well com up with three things in the next two weeks and then jump back into the studio, and all of a sudden the next record is started. That’s an option, too.”
But probably not for the moment. “I would really like to take a little time to learn things…I want to be a well-rounded person who can make a good drink…to be able to save somebody if they’re drowning…I do things like this,” Swift says. Once, “I got it in my head that I couldn’t do a split, and I was really upset about it. And so I stretched every single day for a year until I could do a split. Somehow I feel better knowing that I can."
On her relationship with Scottish DJ-producer Calvin Harris:
“I’m just taking things as they come,” Swift says. “I’m in a magical relationship right now. And of course I want it to be ours, and low-key…this is the one thing that’s been mine about my personal life."
On her “squad” of celebrity female friends, who, depending on the jab, are either too glam or too phony or some combination of the two:
“Ugh,” Swift says when I bring it up. “I’ve had people say really hurtful things about me, and so I’ve kind of learned how to gauge it: ‘This is, like, low-to-medium-level hurtful.'
“There are a lot of really easy ways to dispel rumors,” she explains. “If they say you are pregnant, all you have to do is continue to not be pregnant and not have a baby. If the rumor is that you have fake friendships, all you have to do is continue to be there for each other. And when we’re all friends in fifteen years and raising our kids together, maybe somebody will look back and go, ‘That was kind of ridiculous what we said about Taylor and her friends.’"
