
Ghana’s premier youth and award winning radio station, YFM, has signed an agreement with global news giants, British Broadcasting
Company (BBC), to bring a news-highlights program to their listeners.
The program – “BBC Minute”, is currently airing exclusively in Ghana on all the YFM brands – 107.9 FM in Accra, 97.9 FM in Takoradi and
102.5FM in Kumasi. As the name suggests, the “BBC Minute” is a
‘talkable’, ‘sharable’ one-minute news-update program containing information on world News,Sports, Technology and Entertainment. Content for the program is updated every half hour and is made for today’s fast-moving young radio
stations.
Commenting on this new development, the Head of Corporate Communications for Global Media Alliance, the mother company for Y FM,Ms Naomi Nelson said “Once again the YFM
brand has crossed yet another milestone by partnering with the BBC to bring this program to our cherished listeners.
At YFM, we always seek new exciting ways of not only entertaining our listeners but also enriching their lives with current ‘as-it-happens’ information from all over the world”.
The BBC minute airs Seven days a week at 7:00am, 9:00am, 10:00am, 12noon, 1:00pm, 3:00pm, 6:00pm, 7:00pm, 9:00pm and 10:00pm.
