On Friday, three months after Caitlyn Jenner introduced herself to the world on the groundbreaking cover of Vanity Fair , a judge approved the Olympic champion’s request to legally change her name and gender.
Caitlyn Jenner is now legally a woman, after her official name and gender change was approved in a court hearing.
The 65-year-old star, formerly known as Bruce before undergoing a gender transition in May, filed court documents at Los Angeles County Superior Court seeking the change earlier this month.
Now a judge has approved her request, making her name Caitlyn Marie Jenner.
The court decision means that Jenner can obtain documents like a driver’s license, Social Security card, and passport with her new identity.
