David Beckham Celebrates 10 Years As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador

English former professional footballer David Robert Joseph Beckham OBE Celebrates 10 Years As UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Becks explained, "It's about putting a smile on a child's face, or helping in any other way you can. I am a father, I am a husband, I have four
amazing kids who are thankfully healthy. My children understand all of my work, especially Brooklyn who has seen me work in several
different countries. I always wanted to have children that could actually live through my career with me, it's not just living through my career with me, it's living through my life with me. I might be retired but over the last 10 years my children have seen, especially Brooklyn and
Romeo as Cruz is still nine, have seen me go on certain trips. This was something I wanted to do
even before I had children."
"Today the need to help children has never been greater and since retiring I have more time and
I want to do so much more. That's why I'm setting up this new fund with UNICEF. 7 represents my ongoing commitment to helping
children who need it around the world. This is me stepping up my support - because I can,.because I want to, because the outcome will
help change the lives of millions of children.
Everything I have done, my football career, my family, has led to this point. This is something I want my own children to be proud of."
